Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby “The Brain” Heenan

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Saba SimbaVodpod videos no longer available.
• Simba defeats Valentine via DQ, when Valentine shoves the referee [8:29]
– Gorilla Monsson wonders where Saba Simba’s spear is. Oh, 1991.
– After the match, Jimmy Hart accidentally smashes the guitar over Valentine’s head when Simba moves, and Valentine is split open. There’s your first blood of the year!
– Valentine comes to and the crowd goes crazy for him to beat up Jimmy Hart, while Hart pleads with him. He grabs Hart by the neck, but Hart escapes. And that is a face turn. They shall meet again.

\\

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan vs. Tom Stone
• Duggan wins with the running clothesline [1:57]

\\

Earthquake (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Don Steel• Earthquake wins with a sitdown splash [1:35]
– During the match, Dino Bravo cuts an insert promo about the Royal Rumble, and even warns his buddy Earthquake to watch out
– Earthquake actually hits a pretty nice dropkick during the match
– After the match, Earthquake hits Steel twice more with the splash

\\

Haku vs. Shane Douglas• Douglas wins with a Reverse Flying Bodypress [7:48]
– Shane Douglas has some killer entrance music
– Douglas was pretty new to the WWF at this point, after serving a few years in NWA/WCW as a Dynamic Dude. The story of him leaving is that Douglas went over the booking committee’s head to change a finish, and the committee (Jim Cornette included) decided not to work with them any longer. Politics!

\\

Tugboat vs. Boris Zhukov
• Tugboat wins with a splash [5:57]
– Zhukov (former tag team partner of Nikolai Volkoff) is a substitute for Dino Bravo, and this would be Boris Zhukov’s final WWF appearance

\\

Power & Glory (w/ Slick) vs. Kevin Green & Pat Armstrong
• Paul Roma pins Green after a Powerplex [3:57]

\\

Big Bossman vs. Kent Carlson
Vodpod videos no longer available.
• Bossman pins Carlson after a gutwrench suplex [1:35]
– If you’re confused about why commentators keep changing in these videos I’m using: back in these days the WWF would replay full matches on multiple broadcasts; especially on a show like Prime Time, where the entire broadcast was made up of matches from house shows and various tv tapings. Since I’m picking videos from the many fine people across the world who have chopped up and uploaded them to different video sites, there will be some inconsistencies.
– Bossman used to carry an actual ball and chain to the ring with him, and I couldn’t tell you why.

\\

The Warlord (w/ Slick) vs. Terry Davis
Vodpod videos no longer available.
• Warlord wins via submission with the Full Nelson [2:05]
– Davis sports the balding mullet; a much-less intimidating look than The Warlord
– Warlord is looking forward to meeting up with the British Bulldog in the Royal Rumble match, and so are YOU!

\\

“British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Tom Bennett
• Bulldog pins Bennett after a Running Powerslam [1:37]
